Carving

This method has been done since prehistoric times. This method involves beginning with a solid product, such as wood. The artist cuts or carves away wood until desired shape is accomplished. This method takes a lot of patience, as it is sometimes a long and painful process. Other materials that artists carve from are marble or stone, and sometimes soap. In this picture, the artist carved out an animal using a carving knife and a bar of soap.
